Saturday: We arrived at the Wyndham Resort Condos in Flagstaff in the early afternoon. All of Randy's family had gotten there the day before. We unpacked, then headed off to Arizona Snowbowl, where we rode the alpine lift to the top of the San Fransisco Peaks, elevation 11,500 ft. Sydney behaved wonderfully on the lift, much to Keri's delight. Jenna was kept safe and sound in the Snuggli. After returning from the top of the mountain, we all went to dinner at Black Barts, a dinner theater where the servers also sing. It was a good dinner and enjoyable evening.
Sunday: We attended Sacrament Meeting at the Doney Park Ward. The rest of the day was spent relaxing. The kids watched a movie provided by Wyndham in the grassy park behind our condos when it got dark. Sydney was very tired and disruptive, so she was brought inside and fell asleep in Randy's arms. Keri enjoyed the evening watching TV in the bedroom...uninterrupted!
Monday: We awoke early and drove to Williams, AZ, where we rode the Grand Canyon Railway for the 2 hour, 15 minute ride to the Grand Canyon. We had a picnic lunch while there. Our little family took a scenic 1.6 mile hike from one scenic overlook to another. We walked at a slow pace to accomodate Sydney's little legs, but she walked nearly every step of the way. What a trooper! After enjoying the Grand Canyon for several hours, we rode the train back to Williams before driving back to Flagstaff.

Tuesday & Wednesday: Randy, Ken (Randy's dad), and Ray (Randy's oldest brother) left around 4:15 am to head to the Grand Canyon for their overnight hike. They hiked down the Kaibab Trail and camped near Phantom Ranch. The hiked back up the Bright Angel Trail. The hike was an extremely difficult 17 miles, but was very rewarding. They arrived back in Flagstaff on Wednesday at 3pm... tired, sweaty, and dirty.

Thursday: We drove to "Out of Africa Wildlife Park" in Camp Verde, AZ. We went on the Serengetti Safari, where we were REALLY close to some animals, and Sydney even got to feed carrots to a giraffe! We also visited the wildlife preserve. It was really hot and miserable (Keri speaking), but Randy loved it! After that, we drove to the local Dairy Queen where we ate our picnic lunches and enjoyed some cold ice cream. We traveled back to Flagstaff via Sedona. We had planned to play in the water at Slickrock State Park, but by the time we arrived, all but one of the cousins were asleep. Instead, we drove home. The kids played in the hot tub and the adults enjoyed an evening of card playing.

While Randy was gone, Keri and the girls enjoyed sleeping in and relaxing at the condo. Sydney played hard with her cousins. They were able to swim in a little pool that Randy's parents brought. Keri took the girls shopping at Target on Wednesday and bought a few clothing items for herself--a rare treat!

Friday: We packed up, ate breakfast, and hit the road for our 8-hour trip home.
THANKS, KEN AND LOUISE!!!
