I promise it's coming!

As for the recipe prize that I promised, I've been somewhat overwhelmed with the day-to-day demands of life (namely a fussy, teething baby), so I haven't had the opportunity to type up all the recipes I'd like to share. So, here's the deal...I will be posting a recipe a day for the next week or so. You'll have to go to Recipe Swap to check them out. Today I posted the recipe for Breakfast in a Cookie. I promise all of the recipes I post will be healthy. Enjoy!

Happy Birthday Grandma!!!

And the answer is...

Okay, all of you smarty pants! Seems like I'm one of the few who didn't know what a fabric shaver is. For the prize, I am going to provide some recipes, even to those of you who didn't happen to know what it was. So, I need to know, do you want healthy recipes or sinful ones? Or both? Let me know & I'll dig some good ones up.

What is it?

I came across this item a few days ago & impulsively purchased it. I had never seen or heard of it before, but it was something I could definitely use. So, take your best shot & let me know what you think it is. I promise I will have a prize for the winning guess(es). Here's a chance for all of you lurkers out there to reveal yourselves, too...and I know you're out there!

Why is it...

*...when I dress Jenna in purple that people still wonder if she's a boy or girl? Hello! Purple!

*...that I get a sudden urge to go clothes shopping for my girls whenever Randy's out of town? So glad Old Navy had their 40% off sale today!

*...I can manage to get everything done on my "to do" list but the cleaning?

*...I have enough energy to work on the computer all day, but quickly get tired if I play with my girls?

*...that I think I should eat and eat and eat, even when I'm full? I'm still working on understanding when my body says it's had enough. My brain sure struggles with that.

*...my girls are so cute? Sydney's voice & kisses, Jenna's smiles & squeals, everything about them...

*...I feel compelled to throw in pictures of little Sydney trying to put on my bra just for your viewing pleasure?

Sledding

We went sledding for the first time yesterday since early 2004 when we lived in Idaho. (Sydney was a little bean in my belly at that point.) We went with our neighbors, the Hackett's, to the local golf course where there are several little hills. The girls did great.

Jenna didn't mind the cold at all and was just as quiet as can be.

Sydney enjoyed the sledding, didn't like it when I got snow sprayed in our faces, and then was tired of doing it after and hour.

Randy didn't like me trying to roll around in the snow with him...not sure why?! We came home and shared hot chocolate with the Hackett's. It was so nice to get out!

First Walk

We took our first walk of the year today. The sun is shining and it's in the 40's, so we just had to get out.
And, we came to appreciate that most of our neighbors actually shovel their sidewalks...

Random

Nothing big going on here, so I'll just share a few random things.

*I had a super productive day at home yesterday. It felt so good to have a clean house, work on accounting & taxes, and be with my family.
*My entire family is still sick. I still haven't gotten it.
*Sydney threw up all over our bed this morning. She then ate lots for breakfast, so let's hope she's feeling better. She hadn't eaten much in 2 days.
*I was up at 6:30am making my family breakfast this morning. Crazy, I know! I had breakfast made, my whole family fed, and the kitchen cleaned up by 8:30. And I got to lay down & nurse Jenna during that time.
*I'm really tired. The girls have not been sleeping well at night & it's taking a toll on my body. I will definitely need a nap today! Of course, everyone else is taking naps right now.
*And finally, a few shots:

Sydney wearning Randy's shorts.

Booger-nosed Jenna coming after the camera.

Memories 1

Don't have much to share with a sick family here, so I thought I'd throw in a picture of Randy & I on our wedding day. My cousin, Amy, snapped it with our camera. I believe it's the first picture from when we stepped out of the Provo Temple. I love it because of the expressions on our face. Hope your day is great.

Hand Trauma...again

This time it was Sydney's turn. She burnt her hand on an oven burner while I was making dinner. It was quite traumatic for her, especially having to stand at the sink running cold water over it while I finished putting dinner together. It looked like a large spot was going to blister, but my dad (who has burn training), said to put Melaleuca gel or oil on it. Luckily, we still have some from when Randy worked there nearly 4 years ago. It worked wonders, and I don't think a blister is going to develop. After a nap, Sydney's feeling much better.

I Love

I love when Randy surprises me by making breakfast. I love how beautiful Sydney looks first thing in the morning. I love out-of-the-blue phone calls from old friends. Thanks, Amber!! I love having a clean house. I love that I'm taking part in a gardening class and learning so much. I love that I'm learning to accept my imperfections & still be happy with myself. I love that I have such loyal blogger friends. I love that in the LDS Church, when a prophet dies, there is not turmoil, but a seamless transition to a new prophet. I love that, living in UT, we're able to see things like Pres. Hinckley's funeral on network TV, as well as the press conference announcing a new First Presidency. And lastly, you all should know by now that I LOVE shoveling snow!

Little Librarian

Sydney and I played yesterday. She was the librarian, and I was being read to, along with some of her other "friends". So, so adorable.

Nap...interrupted

I put Jenna down for a nap. She didn't go to sleep immediately, so Sydney took the opportunity to go into the room and play with her. This is what I found.
