Free fun

Last weekend, I took the girls to the Grand Opening of a new park in our town.

The city outdid themselves with all the free activities.  There was seriously nothing there that you had to pay for...my kind of event!

The girls first wanted to ride the carousel.  I couldn't get a good picture of Sydney because every time I snapped one, Jenna's horse would rise up enough just to block Sydney's head.  They both loved it, though.

The girls decided to skip the live pony ride in an effort to make it over to the princess bounce house.

Again, it was a success.

Despite how their faces began looking, they enjoyed this train engine with a much-too-loud whistle.

Next came an army tank.  Can you tell they enjoyed checking it out?

And then the fire truck.  Maybe not so much their thing?  Or too many pictures?

They at least climbed on the back of the fire truck for another shot.

They enjoyed a ride on the barrel train.

We enjoyed a few more activities, including the neat playground, new splash pad (which was pretty chilly with the windy day we were having) and the free hot dogs & lunch.  There were really only a few things that we didn't end up doing.

All in all, it was a successful day & we will definitely be going back to enjoy the park again.

I like it when towns do these kind of things for the people who live there! It makes it a more enjoyable place to live!

What a fun day!

I love how you have to interpret their actual emotions because their faces are saying something else right when you snap the picture.

"No really, they were ENJOYING themselves!"
