Our first phone, a Motorola Startac
(I couldn't find or remember the model or find the picture of the US Cellular phone we had for a while.)
Then we moved to Utah. We decided to get an IP phone through Lingo, which we still have to this day. I love having it as our home phone. And you can't beat $20-something a month for a phone with all the bells and whistles.
Randy's Motorola MPX220
A few months after moving to Utah, Randy got a cell phone. There was a 10-month period of time where his work provided him with a phone, so I used his old one. And then he was laid-off, and he reclaimed his old phone. I went along happily without a cell phone again.

My/Randy's Motorola Razr
My brother thought it was ironic that Randy had a nice, new i-phone while I didn't have a cell phone at all. Truth be told, it didn't really bother me. There have only been a few occasions where I wish I had one.

Randy's i-phone/other lover
Well...our family is going to go along on a trip with Randy while he attends a conference for work. The thought of me spending 3 days in a condo with no way to communicate with him--he doesn't have a set schedule--seemed unrealistic.
So, we caved and began looking at phones and plans. I would have bought a phone last night, but Randy wanted to hold off and think about it. We had looked at getting me a smart phone, but even the monthly cost was painful for me to think about. In a bit of inspiration, I woke up this morning and thought about my parents and wondered if they could put me on their family plan for less than it would be for me to be on Randy's plan.
I called my dad, and he said that he actually had a brand new phone that had been activated & sitting in it's box for several months now. He didn't need two phone with his new work cell. So, my amazing mom overnighted the phone to me & I should be the proud owner of a new phone--my very own phone--tomorrow afternoon.

Awesome! Congratulations! I think you've earned it;)
Fun! We use a cell for our home phone too. We have a second cell to travel with and for Nathan to have when he's away from home (like, at work). It's prepaid, and we never spend more than $10 a month on it!
I am so glad it worked out so well...so, I guess you better call me!
You might want to get a mini sd card for the new phone, a few pictures will literally use all the memory without it.
