Our family just had an amazing weekend. (Didn't take any pictures with our camera, as usual...lazy photographers!) On Saturday, my brother, Dustin, and his wife, Angie, and their two children were sealed for time and all eternity in the Monticello Utah Temple. Charity, their baby girl, was then blessed in NM on Sunday. My heart was so full seeing so many of the men in my family be able to participate in the blessing and be honorable Priesthood holders.
In addition to those special events, we enjoyed spending time with Randy's parents, having breakfast with his brother, Brad, and spending more time with my family. All of my siblings and their families were there, except for Tiffany and Alan.
When we returned home, we learned that our friend, Jewell Milam, had passed away on Friday. It leaves me with such a heavy heart. I first met Jewell in March 2001. We were part of a Ricks College tour group to Church history sites and sat near each other on the bus. Two years later, when we were both married, and still attending school at BYU-Idaho, our husbands connected through basketball & we became acquainted again. I'll always remember that she and Scott were married the day after Randy and I. After both moving from Idaho, our contact was spotty, but in January of this year, Scott emailed Randy telling us of Jewell's cancer. She and her family have been in our thoughts and prayers since. Jewell was only 26 and leaves behind her husband and two young children. My prayers will continue to be with Scott and the kids. I just wish there was something I could do...
So, there you have it, my bittersweet weekend. Now go hug your family & tell them how much you love them!

I'm so sorry that your friend passed away. (((HUGS))) And to leave a husband and two young children behind just breaks my heart. :( Cancer at 26 is something that should never happen.
Wow! Only 26! Keri I am so sorry about your friend! My thoughts and prayers are with you and your friends!
That's really sad, isn't it? It just breaks my heart. Life just is not fair, and it's so unpredicatable. When things like this happen, it really makes us appreciate our family and what we have.
I'm glad you were able to attend the sealing, I bet it was special.
Keri, I am so sorry about your friend. I can't imagine what her husband must be going through. Thank heavens for the priesthood power that binds us for eternity!! I don't know how people whose beliefs differ from ours ever get through such hard times.
I'm also so sorry for the loss of your friend! But what a blessing for your brother and his sweet family to be sealed. We are so grateful to have eternal families, especially when tragedy strikes.
sorry to hear about that. my prayer are with you. isn't it nice to know that they are in a better place?!
How nice that Dustin was able to be sealed to his family!! Tell him that I say Congratulations!! Im so sorry about your friend, it is always so hard when someone so young passes away! You and her family will be in my prayers .
I didn't even know about the sealing, that's so neat. Aaron had his farewell this past weekend and it was awesome. I'm gonna miss him. It's hard to hear about young people passing away and leaving two small kids. I love that we have the gospel and can be with our families again. I did get your call on my b-day. Thanks for remembering- you always do!! I love you Keri !! I'll call you soon. I wish I could come up next week when they bring Aaron to the MTC, but I am the breadwinner and have to make the money!!
