Dance & Tumbling

Sydney & Jenna have been taking dance & tumbling from Ms. Amber since January.  They had their performance last week.  Since I probably won't upload any videos I 'll have to share that one of my favorite parts was when they were doing their tumbling routine.  "Footloose" came on the speakers and both Sydney and Jenna started dancing.  After a little bit of solo dancing, they joined hand and had fun dancing as sisters while they waited for their turns.  Watching them truly delighted me as a mom.

Kindergarten Graduation

We've had a lot going on this past week & I'm just getting around to posting about it.  Sydney graduated from kindergarten last week.  They did a cute program with speaking parts & songs.  I could barely see her from my seat because she was on the bottom row directly in front of me...3 or 4 heads kept getting in the way.  So, here are the few pictures that turned out.  We're so proud of Sydney and the progress she has made this year.  Enjoy!

I'd have to say the highlight for me was when she could see me getting a glimpse of her during a song and she blew me a kiss at that moment.  She is a sweet girl.

...I should share our news here, too.  I've thought of a million ways to say it here, have had a hard time keeping my mouth shut & have already shared on Facebook.  So, for those of you who haven't heard yet, this is the latest "project" I'm working on.

Although a bit unexpected, I trust that this is the Lord's timing.  We are all excited.  :)  I will be 10 weeks along tomorrow & the due date is December 20th.  I've been quite tired, but I have otherwise been feeling great.

Sydney lost a tooth!

She has a bit of my smile, so you can't always see her bottom teeth, but let's take a closer look...

Ta da!  Her tooth had been loose for a few weeks & yesterday was the magical day that she pulled it.  She had been really afraid of the pain, but afterward she said that it didn't hurt at all.  Her second tooth isn't too far behind, either.  Yea for Sydney!

Good parenting books?

I'm wanting/needing to read some good parenting books.  I honestly have never read even one single book on the topic, but think I might need some help in the discipline department.  (It's nearly 10pm as I type and neither of my girls are asleep.  Jenna continues to go in and out of her room to/from the bathroom...)   So, what have you read & what has worked for you? Do share!!

Sitting up

I was especially tired one day this past week.  Jenna hadn't taken a nap while Sydney was at school.  After school, I let the girls watch TV while I took a nap on the couch.  When I woke up, this is what I found.  Apparently Jenna was tired, too.

Star Student

Sydney was the star student this past week in her kindergarten class.  She was so excited to share her poster.  She also took a stuffed bunny to show.  For her Friday snack, she took a favorite of hers, Circus Animal cookies.  I'm pretty sure she felt special & loved her time in the lime light.
